Jorge Vilda left through the back door of the technical direction of the Spain teamafter Pedro Rocha, interim president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decided to remove him from office.
The coach was asked about what he is going to do and, specifically, if he sees himself being trained by Real Madrid. “I would love to coach the best teams and Madrid is one of the best”sentenced Jorge Vilda.
Vilda was asked about the irruption of the white club in women’s football. “He is doing well, there is a good core of national players, with a great wardrobe and it reflects the internationals that the team has and also players who went through the lower categories and who triumphed in the World Cup,” said the former Spanish coach.
The former Spanish coach admitted that he would like to coach a club: “It’s what I did in the past and thanks to that I am where I am. When I’ve been with the National Team, I missed the day-to-day training at a club”. “For me I would be training tomorrow, but you don’t have to rush either. Calmly”added Jorge Vilda.
When asked if he had an offer on the table, he revealed: “My profession is being a coach and it is what I know how to do, it is what I have done throughout my professional life and it is what I want to continue doing. It is clear that it is a moment in which I have to rest everything and think. Yes, there are. I have to value them. I have a family. We will see if it is in Spain or not…”.
He spoke about his dismissal
On how Pedro Rocha had communicated his dismissal, Jorge Vilda stated: “Rock is a gentleman. We have always had a good relationship and it was something that took me by surprise and what was explained to me is that, that a structural change was needed. It was a cessation of all my duties. We have always had a good relationship with the Federation”.
“I did not expect. She was going with another idea. You always have illusion and hope. I saw myself with strength and the desire to play a Nations League, qualified for the Olympic Games… ”, she added.
It had resulted in his longest relationship with the Federation: “In the Assembly it is said publicly, but previously that contract for a renewal for four more years had been perfected, plus the one that I had left. There is a conversation in a meeting in which I am dismissed and it is explained to me that it is a structural change ”
