The Houston Dynamo midfielder, Héctor Herrera confessed this Tuesday that he hopes to return to share in the Mexican team with forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and Carlos Velawho have both been left out of Tri in recent years.
In an interview for EFE, Herrera took the opportunity to comment on several moments, both personal and those of the Mexican team, and one of them was the prolonged absence of the national team’s top scorer, Chicharito, as well as the decision to resign Vela.
“I would like to share again with Chícharo, with Vela, with Pulido in the Tri. It is always a pride. For me, Vela is one of the best players that Mexican soccer has and Chícharo is the historic scorer of the Mexican team, having not been there for several years, and Alan is doing very well in the MLS. “They are players who could have a chance,” said the midfielder.
Later heand sent a greeting to Chicharito with his recovery from the torn cruciate ligaments who suffered a couple of months ago and said that he is someone strong who will recover soon.
“Chicharo, when he recovers, I have no doubt that he will come back better, because I know him, he prepares, he takes care of himself. It would be a pride and a pleasure to share with him in El Tri again,” she added.
Also took the opportunity to talk about Jaime Lozano’s new processwith whom they won the Gold Cup last July and was recently ratified as coach of Mexico.
“What I see, now that I went to the concentration, is the atmosphere. People are eager to do well, to change the course of the latest results. People are happy with the new coach who stayed. Being Mexican, I think people love him a lot. I hope we do things well and get to the World Cup as best as possible, which is the first objective at the end of the day,” Herrera commented.
Finally, he talked about the MLS and how Messi’s arrival with Inter Miami revolutionized the league.
“LThe league already had significant growth, but the arrival of Messi, the best player in the world, has been a great turn for the league. I think he’s going to be the best signing in the history of the league.. Messi has a chance to win the Ballon d’Or, and an MLS player would win it. It’s very important. I think the league has to take advantage of that, give it that growth that they want so much,” he concluded.
