New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton showed all his power this Tuesday during his team’s 5-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers, by firing a gruesome home run with which he reached 400 home runs in the Major Leagues.
During the sixth inning of the game and with the game tied 1-1 Stanton caught a broken pitch to send the ball 451 feet all the way to center field, giving the Yankees a 3-1 lead.
The striking thing is that With home run 400, the fourth bat entered a select group in which he shares with Mark McGwire, Alex Rodríguez and Babe Ruth.
Stanton became the fourth fastest player to reach 400 homers, behind only McGwire, Ruth and Rodríguez, a trio that hit more than 580 home runs in the Majors.
The home run led the Yankees to yet another win with which they matched their record at 69 wins and 69 losses, playing for the first time in several weeks for .500.
In fact, the Yankees are on a winning streak the likes of which have not been seen before this season and in their last ten commitments they accumulate nine victories.
