After the departure of Hansi Flick from the German national team, a team that only added a single victory in six games played during 2023, there are several substitutes that the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB), the official name of the German Football Federation, is managing to take the reins of a team that also had a disappointing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Although Rudi Völler, sporting director of the Mannschaft, will be the interim technical director, along with Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wagner, the German press assures that

Jürgen Klopp, who has a contract with Liverpool until 2026; Julian Nagelsmann, who is without a team but his contract with Bayern Munich until 2026 includes a clause that states that any team that wants to take over his services must make a payment; Matthias Sammer, Oliver Glasner and Rudi Völler himself are some of the names being talked about in the DFB to replace Hansi Flick.

On the other hand, the Bild newspaper reported that the Dutchman Louis van Gaal and the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane would be two other options to lead the German team. “Normally I no longer train for any club, but a promising country still has the opportunity to convince me,” Van Gaal said in statements reported by Bild.

The humiliating defeat against Japan 1-4 was the one that sentenced the fate of Hansi Flick in command of the Mannschaft. Bernd Neuendorf, president of the DFB, said that an official note that “The national team needs a new boost after recent disappointing results.”
