Estudiantes and Força Lleida will compete for promotion to the Endesa League, after both teams won this Saturday in their respective semifinal matches. The Madrid team had no problems beating Tizona Burgos (86-62), while the Catalan team beat San Pablo Burgos (77-80) by a narrower margin, but enough to get into the final match.
Estudiantes imposed the experience of players like Kevin Larsen, Alex Murphy, and Toms Leimanis to defeat a Tizona Burgos, who, although tough, did not know how to stop the attacks of a more mature Madrid team and which is one game away from returning to the ACB.
For its part, Lleida suffered more than necessary, but did not cease its efforts to prolong the dream of fighting for promotion. Although San Pablo Burgos was the team that dominated the first half and part of the second, the Catalan team clung to the triples of the Lithuanian Osvaldas Matulionis and became great in defense to end up winning and meeting Estudiantes in the grand final.
