“Space advantage” is a common saying in chess when evaluating a position. But, although it may seem obvious, it is not so easy to know how to take advantage of this advantage. Sometimes it means that the side restricted in space has serious problems moving pieces quickly from one flank to the other, while the player with more space does so very quickly, and therefore achieves a superiority of attacking forces on a particular wing.
