In the midst of the rumors that have circulated in recent months about the possibility that Carlo Ancelotti could leave Real Madrid to become coach of the Brazilian National Team, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, confirmed that the interest is real.
In an interview granted this Thursday to the ‘BeIn Sports’ channel, Rodrigues not only acknowledged that the CBF is interested in hiring the Italian coach, but also He let it be known that this is his “Plan A”, although he let it be known that they have not yet made him a formal proposal.
“It is not that he has any kind of proposal, but we followed him up and also checked if he had any kind of will. I have it as a plan A. I am speaking for the first time in a very open way and there is no point in hiding this preference“, revealed the president of the Brazilian entity.
In this sense, he indicated that his ethics does not allow him to have contact with Ancelotti for the aforementioned position because he has a current contract with the ‘Merengue’ team and is at a crucial moment in the campaign.
“I try to be very ethical. I cannot approach any coach who has a contract with a club. We have tried to be patient and wait for the right moment to have a conversation, a meeting,” she explained.
“From the moment we receive the signal that it is also your will, we will start talking prepared for what may be a yes or a no. From there we will have a plan B”, added Rodrigues.
Likewise, the president of the CBF threw out the possibility of hiring a Brazilian coach to take over the reins of the ‘Canarinha’. “We are not discrediting any technician from our country. On the contrary, we have coaches from the same competition. We came to Ancelotti’s candidacy because of his achievements, for being a dignified person. We check that he is a correct person“.
