A young Dominican died in a cell at the Lawrence police headquarters, Massachusetts, United States. It is presumed that it was a drug overdose.
According to international media, Christian Marte Martinez25 years old, was arrested for alleged disturbance of public order and damage to private property.
Supposedly, the drug had been provided to him by another prisoner, who was identified as 49-year-old Javier García.
The authorities have not been able to explain how García brought the drugs to the barracks.
The police authorities explained that around 5:00 in the morning they discovered that Marte Martínez was unconscious. They applied first aid (CPR) to him and when he did not respond they took him to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
