The UNAM Pumas player, César Huerta, was one of the big surprises in the call announced by the technical director of the Mexican team, Jaime Lozanoto face the next friendly matches against Australia and Uzbekistan that will serve as preparation for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers.
Given this fact, the feline footballer was quite excited to be considered by the national team for these matches and stressed that he currently has enough maturity to be able to defend the colors of the Tri in the games that are necessary.
“Like any footballer, representing your country, wearing the national team shirt, is an immense pride, it is a dream and a goal that I have and to play in Europe in the elite of football. It’s what a player should aspire to, that’s what he works for, that’s what he has to prepare for, to compete with the best,” he said in an interview with TUDN journalist Rodrigo Celorio.
Huerta explained that his call could influence because Jaime Lozano already knew him for his role in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with the Under-23 team, where he established himself as one of the most important youth figures in the competition.
“He summoned me in the Under-23, in the Olympics, unfortunately I couldn’t go but I know him, he knows me and I think that also influences, it can help and apart from the fact that right now I’m doing things well and that can help a lot more”.
Finally, the UNAM Pumas striker said that during the last two years he has managed to gain the necessary confidence to be a decisive figure on the field of play and he is confident that he will be able to help the team win games.
“I have grown, I have matured, work is something that allows you to constantly grow and I think that it has simply been that, things always settle where they have to be and I am in a very good place, a very good moment, continue to enjoy, work very hard and make the most of it”, concluded César Huerta.
