Last Wednesday, the Spaniards played the first round and won all three matches against the Czech Republic. This Friday, the Spanish team faced France, whom they beat by 2 wins to 1. Roberto Bautista won his singles match against Arthur Fils (6-2, 5-7, 3-6). Then it was the turn of Carlos Alcaraz, who also defeated his rival Ugo Humbert with a double 6-3. The doubles match was the only one that was difficult for the Spaniards. Pablo Carreño and Marcel Granollers lost in the super tie-break by 10-8.
The group stage will be played until Sunday, September 15. The final phase, which Spain has already secured, will be played in Malaga at the Martín Carpena Pavilion from this Tuesday, November 19, until next Sunday, November 24, when the winner of the 2024 Davis Cup will be known.
