The Manchester City strategist, Carlo Ancelotti, revealed this Wednesday after the defeat suffered by the Merengues 4-0 in England that what happened at the Etihad Stadium are only football factors and that the game could have been for anyone.
In statements to the press, Ancelotti assured that the result does not compromise his stay at the club and that there is no one who doubts his work.
“Today is football stuff, we played against a rival who deserved to winwho have played with more intensity, with more quality in the first part, have taken advantage and have built the game to reach the final”, explained the Italian at a press conference.
In addition, he confirmed that it was possible for this result to occur because in that instance (semifinal) there are the four best teams.
“When you get to a semifinal this can happen to you, that you find yourself with a very strong opponent. I think reaching the semifinals is a success. Only four arrive. Sometimes it can happen that you lose”, added Ancelotti, who denied that his future is up in the air after the elimination against Manchester City.
“Nobody doubts (me), because the president has been clear a fortnight ago,” settled Ancelotti, who also asserted that what the president has told him in private is not going to be said at a press conference.
The Real Madrid coach stated that he trusts this squad to win the Champions League next season because they have just won it last year and assured that they are already thinking about next year.
“Obviously the approach of the party has not come out. We don’t have to make a drama, this squad did very well last year and this. We have not had the ability to reach the final. We will do better next season. This defeat is just one step to try to be better next year”, concluded Ancelotti.
