A Broward man coaxed his teenage daughter into a fight with a 15-year-old girl before he joined the fight and punched her several times, saccording to the police.
Jerry Mareus faces charges of aggravated child molestation and contributing to the delinquent act of a minor. The 30-year-old man was released on $20,000 bail.
According to the police report, January 17 Mareus took his daughter to the 2600 NW 60 Ave. address in Sunrise after convincing her to fight another teenager. Detectives say the North Lauderdale man can be seen on video punching, grabbing and slamming the victim to the ground.
Police added that the altercation left the 15-year-old girl with bruises and lacerations to her face, nose and eyes.
“The victim stated that she could not see out of one eye and was experiencing double vision,” according to the report.
Mareus was arrested shortly after the incident and transferred to the Broward County Main Jail.
Mareus appeared in court on Saturday and claimed he never hit the 15-year-old girlreported WPLG Local 10 News.
