The ability of artificial intelligence (AI) to process large volumes of data, identify patterns and learn autonomously enables innovative applications in fields as diverse as health, agri-food and even the ICT sector itself. The transversality of AI not only boosts efficiency and productivity, but also opens up new opportunities and challenges that require a collaborative approach.
In the health field, AI can significantly increase the survival expectations and quality of life of cancer patients. This is the basis on which AI is based. BAKEIAa cutting-edge technology project applied to the biosanitary sector. Through this project, ITI has developed a tool to assist oncologists based on intelligent data analysis and machine learning (machine learning) capable of performing automated readings of mammograms and detecting the potential development of breast cancer early, as well as predicting possible complications resulting from leukemia treatment or avoiding unscheduled hospital readmissions.
ITI also implements AI techniques in the agricultural sector. Through MoTIA3 With its own experimental device and an AI algorithm, ITI has managed to analyse citrus and persimmon leaves in search of fruit fly eggs, larvae, nymphs and pupae with the aim of detecting, in an early and geolocalised phase, the presence of the pest.
In the food sector, and in collaboration with AINIA, ITI is making progress in the development of a digital tool to facilitate personalized nutrition. Food4One will advise users on which foods they can or should avoid based on their microbiota, genome and other factors. To achieve this, ITI has developed an AI-based model through the WISEPHERE data space platform.
The PANAKEIA project is based on the premise that the use of artificial intelligence can significantly increase the survival expectations and quality of life of cancer patients.
In the industrial field, and thanks again to Artificial Intelligence, ITI is using sounds to prevent breakdowns. Through Soroll-IA2is working on an audio database to use as a predictive maintenance tool and to help prevent potential breakdowns through sound recognition.
But AI also supports the ICT sector itself. INTEGRALbased on AI itself and on machine learningallows a system to learn and improve autonomously. This project will facilitate the introduction of AI in companies, one of the European Union’s objectives for 2030.
These projects, which have been funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), are just some examples of the many projects based on artificial intelligence that ITI is working on, a private technology centre specialising in ICT, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and currently has a staff of more than 300 professionals.
They all respond to a common philosophy, which focuses, according to ITI sources, on generating technological solutions “from people for people”, that is, with a marked human profile and all of them demonstrate how technology is transforming all sectors of activity thanks to technological transfer and public-private collaboration.
