“The recovery time will be in accordance with his evolution,” said the thirteen-time Liga MX champion team.

At the moment Jardine would only miss the next game, however it would not be just any commitment but nothing more and nothing less than the classic against Chivas for the eighth day of the 2023 Apertura Tournament.

Given the foreseeable loss, it is expected that Paulo Rodriguez and Raul Rodrigo Lara, assistants appointed by the Rio native, will replace Jardine in the technical direction.

The Brazilian arrived at América for this Apertura to replace Fernando Ortiz, who was the coach of the azulcremas for a year in which he was eliminated in three semifinals.

In addition, he arrived with the objective of giving the Águilas their first league title since the Apertura 2018. So far he has the club in the qualification zone for the final phase, since América occupies sixth place in the Apertura with 11 points .

In his first six games as coach, Jardine has a record of three wins, two draws and one loss. In addition, his team has scored 12 times, the second highest number in the championship, and has conceded eight goals, the fourth lowest amount in the tournament.
