Atlético de Madrid striker Álvaro Morata said on Tuesday that he will not “stop until he wins” with the red-and-white team, with whom he has a contract until 2026, after the uncertainty he had maintained in recent weeks about his continuity in the Madrid team, where he will remain at least for the next season.

“I can’t imagine what it must be like to win with this shirt and I won’t stop until I get it,” he posted on Tuesday afternoon on his official account Instagramas did Atlético de Madrid itself through its official account, implying that the player will continue under the orders of the Argentine Diego Simeone in the red-and-white team. During the last few weeks, after being substituted in the final days of this campaign, Morata had expressed doubts about his continuity at Atlético, where he wanted to feel important for the new season, amid the news that emerged in the media about the club’s interest in strengthening itself with several signings in attack.

Morata made 48 appearances for Atlético last season, starting 33 of them, scoring 21 goals – the most productive season of his career – and providing four assists, although he was relegated to the bench in the last five consecutive available games, after being substituted at half-time in the Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish international forward has made 154 appearances, starting 110, with 58 goals, during his two spells at Atlético, the first lasting a year and a half (from January 2019 to June 2020) and the second during the last two seasons. In between, he spent two years on loan at Juventus.
