Carlos Alcaraz lost this Thursday in the round of 16 of the Queen’s tournament against the Englishman Jack Draper. The Spaniard, 21 years old and recent winner of Roland Garros, could not withstand the aggressive British player, who approached him decisively and after winning the tiebreaker in the first set, he maintained his good tone in the second: 7-6(3) and 6-3, in 1h 26m. In this way, the Murcian, who in the first round had easily surpassed the Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo, will not be able to defend the title obtained last year and closed a sequence of 13 consecutive victories on grass. The defeat penalizes him in the ranking world championship – he falls from second to third place, with Novak Djokovic as the beneficiary – and precedes the landing at Wimbledon, where he will also try to defend the crown and will begin competing from July 1.
