This Tuesday, Inter sealed its classification to the grand final of the Champions League after beating Milan at the stadium Giuseppe Meazza with score 1-0. That with the 0-2 advantage obtained in the first leg ended up giving him the pass to the Nerazurri team to play a European final 13 years later.
Knowing the need for Milan to find the match, Inter came out to withdraw and with a line of five in the background contained the attack of the Rossoneros, who, although they had their top figure back Raphael Leoit was not enough for them to give another course to the tie.
The first half had just one shot on goal per side, even at various times Inter proposed and was close to generating danger. After the first 45 minutes the match remained 0-0 and with a clear parity in possession of the ball.
The tie was broken in the 74th minute with a goal from the captain Lautaro Martinezwho defined the goalkeeper’s first post with his left leg after a touch play in the rival area and that was impossible for the goalkeeper to stop Mike Maignan.
Not even the goal could make Milan wake up and try to find the match, which from the first minute was against them. ANDl Inter for its part closed the spaces and was able to sustain the result with his people in the stadium.
With this result, Inter registers its name in the final of the Champions League for the sixth time in its history. He lost those of 1967 and 1972 but was able to raise those of 1964, 1965 and 2010. Now the team led by Simone Inzaghi will wait for his rival, who will come out of the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The grand final will be held on June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Türkiye. Where Inter will seek to win its fourth “Orejona”.
