This Monday, the Euroleague appeal judge ratified the one-game ban on basketball player Facundo Campazzo and imposed a fine of 5,000 euros on the club for “lack of respect for the referees.” The point guard received a foul in Madrid’s debut in the Euroleague against Bayern Munich on October 3 and the Argentine angrily claimed it in the last play of the match, in which the Whites lost 97-89.
Campazzo was charged with a technical foul during that match and was later disqualified for not ceasing his protests, for which he received a second technical foul. The player had to be held by his teammate Serge Ibaka and kept away from the referees, to whom he continued shouting from a distance.
The Appeals Judge has rendered their decision after the appeal presented by Real Madrid and Facundo Campazzo.

The ruling of the appeal judge comes this Monday after the appeal presented by Real Madrid Basketball last week and which allowed the Argentine point guard to play against Partizan Belgrade on the second day of the Euroleague. However, Campazzo will not be able to enter Chus Mateo’s plans for the next game on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. against Baskonia.
The white club is not quite at its best at the beginning of the Euroleague – they have not yet won away from home – and this sanction is a headache for the coach, who cannot count on Andrés Feliz either, who after breaking his plantar fascia of the right foot, he will be off the field of play for an indeterminate period of time.
