Who was not moved, at some point, by the stories of José Montesano following the basketball and volleyball teams? all over the world? Who didn’t want to applaud him and hug him when he told of his hard fight against a brave, difficult and very treacherous disease? Who hasn’t ever repeated one of his many catchphrases like “all the kids’ hands up”, “one more, we ask you one more” or “come on, tuister, this is ours”?.
Well, the latest news is not something to get excited about, to congratulate or to shout out loud with the desire to jump around the TV: After 27 years “breaking it all” at TyC Sports, Montesano left the sports channel and his job future, at least in the first instance, is uncertain and quite doubtful to say the least.
Montesano, nicknamed “Mosquito” and considered by colleagues and the public “the most loved and respected sports journalist in the country,” recorded a video to explain what happened to his job. “Hello hello hello hello, how are you doing. I’m stopping by to tell you something, eh… I’ve finished a beautiful cycle with Tyc Sports and from today I will no longer be on screen. It was by mutual agreement”started a video that in a few minutes reached 8,000 likes.
“I have a combo of sensations, feelings, nostalgia, emotion, sadness, but also dreams and illusions that are ultimately what counts. 27 years… yes, 27 years with good moments, not so good, some ugly ones. 27 years, a lot. Half my life!”he exclaimed looking at the camera.
Trascartón, Montesano referred to the crisis that TyC is experiencing. “First of all, a special and supportive hug to each of my colleagues who are no longer in the company in recent days, have no doubt that everything will go very well for all of them”. Afterwards, he dedicated himself to thanking “my colleagues who gave me brilliant and great things for my professional and personal life.”
THE MOST BELOVED JOURNALIST IN THE COUNTRY LEFT THE CHANNEL WHERE HE WORKED FOR 27 YEARS
“Thank you also to my colleagues, to the producers, cameramen, sound engineers, makeup artists, wardrobe designers, technical and administrative areas, they have given me 100,000 points. I am here largely because of all the love you gave me”he continued.
“The journey… nothing, coverage, World Cups, games… I also stay with what the athletes gave me, which is the most important thing in this whole story. Without athletes our work would not exist. And the Argentine athletes of different Sports taught me and made me a better person and professional. To my parents, my old man is not here but he must be happy, to my brothers, to my children, to my friends, nothing, to everyone. To you always and from the heart, we will continue to see each other. Hugs for all those who need it, I am in need of one.”hill.
