The Cap Roig Festival registers an attendance of 48,509 people in its 24th edition | Fortunes

English:Raphael, Estopa, Diana Krall, John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival) and Andrés Calamaro are some of the names that have passed through the Girona town of Calella de Palafrugell, on the Costa Brava, to take part in the twenty-fourth edition of the Cap Roig Festival, an event organised by the Clipper’s Group and CaixaBank between 12 July and 16 August. In total, there have been more than 20 performances by national and international stars, which have attracted an attendance of 48,509 spectators, with eight concerts sold out and an occupancy rate of 86%.

CaixaBank’s Director of Communications and Institutional Relations, Maria Luisa Martínez Gistau, stressed that “after 24 editions, the Cap Roig Festival continues to be a success every year and is a key event in the summer cultural calendar, with a high-level programme in the incomparable setting of the Cap Roig Gardens”. Martínez Gistau explained that “the promotion of the festival, which has a very positive direct impact on the Baix Empordà area, is a response to CaixaBank’s support for those projects that involve a clear development of opportunities in the territories where it operates. This commitment is something inherent to our values ​​as an entity”.

Charity concert and programming for family audiences

This year, the Cap Roig Festival has once again included a charity evening in its programme. Part of the money raised from The Tyets’ show will go to a project by the El Trampolí association, which works to promote opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to have their own life project. The money raised from the concert and from CaixaBank’s donation campaign will be specifically allocated to supporting the El Trampolí Theatre Group to give this group the opportunity to express themselves, explore their potential and actively contribute to the world of the performing arts, with a vision focused on inclusion and empowerment.

This edition also saw the celebration of Cap Roig Mini, the festival’s children’s and family programming initiative, which this year hosted the family show of El Pot Petit amb La Black Music Big Band.

For his part, the president of the Cap Roig Festival director, Juli Guiu, was very satisfied with the results of this edition: “We have managed to attract a large number of people and offer a very high quality programme. The festival experience has been enriched, not only by the concerts, but also by the exceptional gastronomic proposal and the solidarity initiatives that we have carried out. We are proud to have been able to collaborate with El Trampolí and support inclusive projects that promote the integration and empowerment of people with intellectual disabilities.” In addition, Guiu thanked “all the attendees, artists, CaixaBank, Fundació “la Caixa”, sponsors, institutions and the Clipper’s Group team for making such a memorable edition of the Cap Roig Festival possible.
