Attention please…single theaters need crowd pullers…not those who come just because they have a crazy date or to show up for a week…week after week…they need films of charismatic heroes who increase the footfall in theaters…are the star heroes listening to this?
Theaters have to be packed with people to stay green for ten periods. Fans should be loaded. Only then will there be a repeat audience. Only then will the theaters flourish. The buzz is visible only when the star hero films are greeted once or twice a month.
We will come for Sankranthik, Dussehra, Summer… If the star heroes are silent saying that the rest of the time is not ours, the scene will be different. If the makers of small films think that once they are released in theaters, they can release them in OTTs if they feel like it… the survival of theaters will be questionable.
A system of single theaters is like a bridge between the cinema and the masses. Once that system collapses, there is a danger that the average movie will be confined to multiplexes and digital platforms. If that happens, the makers will have to obey the rules set by the OTTs.
The stars should realize that only if they move forward while inviting new trends and preserving the old methods, they will be the ones who have given the glory of hundred years of cinema to the future generations. Critics say that Pan Indian stars should show aggressiveness with multi-pull projects instead of sitting and calculating one or two releases a year.
