New York and New Jersey have a life expectancy of 77.7 and 77.5 years respectively, both below the national average (78.5), according to a new study by the portal Life Extension.

At the moment humanity has an average life expectancy of 73.2 years, according to estimates by the United Nations Organization (UN): in that list the USA is in box 46 with 79.11 years. On world average women (75.6 years) live longer than men (70.8).
“For the first time in a generation, Americans born today can expect to die before their parents.” completed the analysis of Life Extension that compared the 50 states of the country and Washington DC. “We used federal data to identify the relationship between life expectancy at birth and eight key metrics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Census Bureau.”
When establishing an overall average for “live long and healthy,” New Jersey ranked 16th in the country and New York 18th. The top five ranked states (1 through 5) were Hawaii, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington, and New Hampshire. The five worst (47 to 51): Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and West Virginia.
No surprise, 7 of the 10 states with the longest life expectancy also rank in the top 10 for healthy lifestyles; and the 10 regions with the least healthy styles also have the lowest life expectancies, he noted. Fox News.
