Many have already adapted to normality again after the summer and Madrid is once again full of free plans to enjoy the beginning of autumn. This week, the most pampered will be music lovers. Among the most anticipated plans are the concerts on the terraces of the National Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza. Not far behind is the Autoplacer music festivalwhich is celebrating its 15th anniversary this week with the performance of 12 groups of artists.
A free concert while enjoying dinner at the Prosperity Market The Vallekana Oktoberfest and an exhibition at the Buitrago Museum are other proposals. Below are five free plans to enjoy in Madrid during the week of September 20-27:
Autoplacer Music Festival
On Saturday, September 21, on the terrace of CA2M (Móstoles), The Autoplacer collective will add another year to the vindication of submerged music. The bands Sin bragas, Megane Mercury, Elena del Frade, Fantasmage, Bicho Bola, Las Petunias, Adrián Bremner DJ, Basilisque, Igor, Corte!, ¡Miau! and Marcelo Criminal will be playing from 12:00 to 21:00 with free admission until full capacity.
The cultural association Autoplacer has been working since 2009 to promote creative practices and alternative productions and is considered one of the main reinforcements for local musical groups and projects. They have also dedicated themselves to denouncing abusive practices in the music industry, economic sustainability for creators, the renewal of the cultural scene and participatory processes.

Concerts at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
Starting this week, the Thyssen National Museum will combine visual art and live music. As part of its cycle From the borders, The museum has organised free concerts on its terraces. This initiative is part of the special programme linked to the temporary exhibition Colonial memory.
The idea is to create a direct connection between each presentation and a specific work in the exhibition, which turns the experience into a dialogue between art and music. Admission is free, subject to availability.

Oktoberfest Vallekana, in Vallecas
Beer lovers have a date on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September at the Oktoberfest Vallekana 2024, in the district of Puente de Vallecas. The event aims to bring the Bavarian beer and cultural tradition closer to the local residents.
The fair is organized by the Vallecana Cultural Beer Association (AC/VC), in collaboration with the Municipal Council of Puente de Vallecas. Some of the beers will be available for tasting. Bavaria’s most iconic beersbrought from the factory in Munich. There will also be a wide range of typical German cuisine available in five food trucks.
Participants will also be able to attend concerts by different bands and artists between Friday and Sunday, which will begin at 10:00 p.m.

Live concert at the Prosperidad Market
With the return of autumn they have also returned Free live concerts at the Prosperidad MarketStarting this week, the third Saturday of every month will become a regular event for music lovers.
On Saturday, September 21, you can enjoy the talent of Sabe, a Spanish singer-songwriter.

Exhibition in Buitrago
The Community of Madrid presents starting this week the exhibition Picasso, master potter. The ceramics that inspired the artistan exhibition dedicated to this facet of the Malaga-born creator and which includes some pottery pieces that served as inspiration for him and others made by him.
As those responsible for the exhibition point out, it is “more than likely” that Eugenio Arias, the Malaga-born barber with whom Picasso had been friends since 1948, was a direct witness to the master’s admiration for the works on display there.
It will be open to the public and free of charge at the Museo Picasso-Colección Arias in Buitrago del Lozoya from this week until 1 December. A free guided tour service is offered every Sunday.

Anda Madrid, six walking tours around emblematic spots in Madrid
This week, Madrid City Council has launched six pedestrian routes as part of a new sustainable mobility initiative. The six routes start, end or pass through Puerta del Sol, the iconic square that is the kilometre zero of all Spanish roads. People who take them will visit the most emblematic points of the capital.
The map includes details of the distance between the different stages of each route and the average time it takes to walk from one point to another.
Madrid is the Spanish city with the highest number of journeys on foot, mobility that represents almost one in three trips, 28%. This means that, on a working day, 3.7 million journeys are made on foot in Madrid, out of a total of 13 million journeys that are counted on average daily.
The six routes are:
Anda Madrid Route (AM) 1: Puerta del Sol-Cibeles-Plaza de Colón-Nuevos Ministerios-Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Total: 83 minutes
AM Route 2: Total: 62 minutes
AM Route 3: Moncloa-West Park-Debod Temple-Plaza de España-Royal Palace-Puerta del Sol-Neptune-Retiro-Ibiza-Fuente del Berro Park-Royal Palace. Total: 124 minutes
