Autumn is approaching and with it the time to fill the calendar with the best of art. Fans of contemporary art will kick off the new season of creation with the Madrid Gallery Weekenda weekend in which the city becomes a macro exhibition of some of the best works and artists of the current scene. To follow the line, the center Conde Duque presents a cycle of films by Pedro Almodóvar, who was recently awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. One of the most interesting proposals for this week is the Festival of Ideasan event that will take place for the first time from 18 to 21 September. The programme includes talks with some of the most prominent national and international philosophers, sociologists, political scientists and writers. There will also be guided tours, book presentations and signings, exhibitions and concerts that will revolve around the festival’s theme: catharsis.

Last days to visit the Sorolla Museum
There are two weeks left to visit the Sorolla Museum before it temporarily closes its doors on October 1. The majestic mansion where the Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla spent his last days will be undergoing renovations until 2026, with the aim of restoring and expanding the exhibition spaces and improving accessibility for the public.
During this period, the museum will exhibit some of its pieces in other spaces, but the works of the “painter of light” can still be enjoyed in the surroundings of the house with free admission this weekend and the following two.
