Carlos Portillo, a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang, was sentenced after being found guilty in connection with the machete murder of teenager Julio César Gonzales Espantzay at Massapequa Preserve, Long Island (NY).

Portillo received a sentence of 25 years to life in prison on Wednesday, reported News 12. He had been found guilty in January. The 19-year-old victim was lured to death by him after he a woman who worked with MS-13 promised him drugs and sex, according to the police.

Previously in April 2022 the young Leniz Escobar, who called herself “La diablita”, was found guilty in connection with brutal slayings by the Mara Salvatrucha gang in New York.
